We are seeking dynamic Freelance Researcher(s) to join ReD Associates' team of social science practitioners who solve strategic business challenges through rigorous research methodologies. This role is ideal for professionals with 2-3 years of experience and advanced training in the social sciences or humanities who are passionate about applying academic rigor to real-world business problems.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, with particular strength in uncovering critical user insights through mixed-methods approaches. This position requires flexibility, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to travel as research demands.

Key Responsibilities

Research Execution: Conduct in-depth field research using ethnographic methods, including immersive experiences, contextual interviews, and observations across diverse settings
Participant Management: Lead participant recruitment and manage research logistics to ensure smooth project execution
Insight Generation: Uncover critical user insights through mixed-methods research, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches to deliver comprehensive findings
Data Analysis: Demonstrate synthesis skills across mixed-methods datasets, combining statistical analysis capabilities with the ability to identify meaningful trends, connections, and insights across qualitative and quantitative data sources
Documentation & Reporting: Write detailed analytical field notes and develop original insights, concepts, and solutions grounded in research findings
Client Engagement: Plan, present, and manage key workstreams on projects; build compelling presentations for ReD clients based on research and analysis
Collaboration: Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to both in-person and remote research methodologies

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree (or beyond) preferred in social sciences, humanities, or related field with outstanding academic record
Experience: 2-3 years of relevant research experience, preferably in consulting or applied research settings
Research Methods: Proven experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods, including ethnographic fieldwork, expert interviews, and AI-enabled research methods
Travel: Ability and willingness to travel for research projects
Cultural Competency: Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to adapt to diverse research environments

Preferred Qualifications:

International experience and multilingual capabilities (particularly Spanish, Japanese, Vietnamese, German, Portuguese)
Previous consulting experience
Strong desire to impact business strategy using social science methodologies
