We are looking for a student assistant with a background in statistics/ quantitative analysis and a keen interest in global health. You will support our consultants in designing and executing mixed-method research aligned with business and public health problems. The role involves working with health data, designing research studies, learning new analysis techniques, and applying ReD’s unique methodology to real-world challenges.

This paid position is ongoing. Approximate weekly commitment is 20 hours. We hope for our new Student Assistant(s) to start ASAP.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze public health and global health datasets using R or equivalent statistical software.
Support the design and implementation of quantitative and mixed-method research projects.
Independently earn and apply analytical techniques relevant to public health (e.g., epidemiological modeling, biostatistics).
Collaborate with qualitative researchers to integrate quantitative insights into broader project narratives.
Contribute to the development of evidence-based recommendations for clients in the health sector.
Prepare data visualizations and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Candidates must be at least in the second year of their Bachelors degree to qualify.
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
Proficient in R (or similar software such as Python, SPSS, or Stata) for data analysis.
Demonstrated ability to learn new analytical methods and adapt to evolving project needs.
Interest in global health issues and the application of data-driven insights to business and policy challenges.
Experience or interest in mixed-methods research.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
